Former Gillan and Ozzy Osbourne guitar legend, Bernie Tormé, will be playing The Corporation Sheffield on Saturday 10th September.

Guitar legend, blues rock psychedelic shredmeister, glam punk sleaze rock frontman: Bernie Tormé has enjoyed a long and remarkable career. Hit records, world tours and international acclaim came as lead guitarist in Gillan. While a member of Gillan, Bernie wrote and played on four top ten albums and many hit singles, including Gillan’s biggest selling singles, ‘New Orleans’ and ‘Trouble’. Bernie then stepped in for Ozzy Osbourne in the aftermath of guitar legend Randy Rhoads’ tragic death before going on to front Electric Gypsies and Tormé. His incendiary playing and high octane rock always make for a spectacular show.

Says Bernie: “I first played Sheffield when I was with the Gillan. Sheffield was Rock Central and was ALWAYS an absolutely killer gig. In fact I think Gillan played it on every UK tour we did! And we did lots! After Gillan I played the Octagon, Leadmill, the University and it was always one of the best cities in the country for rock audiences. I’m so delighted to be playing The Corporation on Sat Sept 10th with some great local bands. It will rock! Can’t wait.”

In recent years Bernie has been touring with Chris Heilmann (bass) and Ian Harris (drums) releasing two critically-acclaimed solo albums ‘Flowers & Dirt’ (2014) and ‘Blackheart’ (2015). Both albums were assisted by highly successful pledge funding campaigns that helped reconnect Bernie with long-standing fans as well as bringing many new ones.

Bernie: “Recording the two recent albums has been a great experience but performing live is so important to me. The new songs have been really well received on our recent tours but, of course, people can expect a few of the old favourites as well.”
